Exit presentation mode

I'm on a MacBook Air M1.

Before Keynote 11.2 and Monterey I exited from the presentation mode using the esc key. In 11.2 and Monterey now the esc key doesn't work and, to exit from presentation mode, I have to press command-Q, like quitting the app. In this way the app doesn't quit but I exit from presentation mode. This is quite confusing and less practical. How to change it?

Mac book pro virtual esc key not showing anymore ... (aka Resurrect / bring back the virtual esc button) Hi there ... I have a 2019 mac book pro and I am on Catalina OS and I am unable to see the virtual "esc" button on the touch bar strip whichever option (Quick Actions / App Controls / Expanded Ctrl Strip / F1,F2 / Spaces) I try to select under the "System Preferences > Keyboard > Touch Bar shows"... I am aware that it is possible to override "Modifier Keys" to act as Esc button, but I regularly use all those modifier keys for what they stand for... so, that is not an option for me. Has anyone figured out how to resurrect the virtual "esc" button instead of the work arounds all over the internet?? If yes, I will be eternally grateful for fixing this grand FU by Apple. Thanks.

There are a few bugs in Keynote running in Monterey with M1 Macs, so I'm not surprised using escape does not work.

Using command Q is a recognised way of coming out of play in all versions of Keynote, so use that as it works for you.
