How to change Safari tabs back to stacked iOS 15

Apple has The WORST customer service. They really don’t care what you think. I had an issue with something a few years ago and their answer was pretty much check the boards and figure it out yourself. When I did, I spent 2 hours on the phone explaining to an “engineer” what I did to fix the problem. I told them that if every time my car broke down I would have to go to discussion boards and figure out how to fix it myself, I wouldn’t buy that kind of car. He agreed. I see nothing has changed.

Yeah, that's why I think people should consider doing as K Shaffer suggested above, and submit their feedback directly to the Safari team through the links in his post. And this one isn't as active as the other one I'm on, about CarPlay no longer working in many cars after the 15.2 update.

It’s so arrogant that you assume users want to change things like this stacking order of the safari pages. Just so arrogant you fools! Changes should be added sure but they should be options to us, not changed without our consent. You little teenyboppers who think they know all do these things without polling or any data to see if it’s what we prefer. You change things just to be changing them. Nothing upsets me more than such arrogance, foolish arrogance. Not everything can be improved on you goofs!!!!

I (and my wife) agree the new layout sucks big time! I gave it some time to see if I would just adapt and discover some type of advantage. It’s still awful. No benefit at all. I still close tabs accidentally that I then have to re-download. Time to fix this mistake Apple.

That’s not helpful. Along with thousands of other replies we need a way to revert back to “stacked” tabs in the previous versions of safari. It’s frustrating and slow to search through the flat display and it’s all too small to read

please get us a way to revert back to the the previous stacked tabs in safari.

Thanks for the links. I just submitted feedback. Hope it helps. Interestingly, the drop down on the page doesn’t even allow me to select the iOS of my most recent update. They haven’t updated their page.

It’s impossible yet not surprising. I am used to using like 100 tabs at a time, I do lots of research and I would keep pages on my phone for fast use before transferring the important pages. It was always a non-issue. But it seems that everything they come up with is worse than the version before, and worse than the version before that, etc. Less user friendly, cumbersome, glitchy, time consuming, confusing, crazy making. It’s like done in purpose. They obviously must know what they’re doing, yet they keep doing it. Like wanting to dumb people more and more.

Absolutely terrible “update”. Total regression in usage of Safari. Will be looking for a new browser, and switching to Samsung if this is a long term plan for Apple. I use Safari extensively on my phone and this has made doing so cumbersome and enraging. Please allow an option for users to revert to cascade style tabs.

The phrase: „never change a running system“ is the key so please apple give us back our stacked tabs system, or at least the option to freely choose the „new“ and experimental way ir the good old working way!!!

Same here also. Is Apple not listening?How could they think that the new system was an improvement on a small screen?

I agree. I can’t stand the update change on the tabs. Highly highly highly inefficient. I just dread having to go to the tile layout every single time now. Please change it back to the stacked tabs. Those worked beautifully. I’ve read through many of the comments and how depressing that they won’t take notice or change it back to the way it was. I mean we’re not asking for rocket science. They already have the program in hand.

Apple once you change back to a stacked tab layout please shout it from the rooftops because we all are praying every day to hear our plea!!! Please change it back ASAP. I dread each and every day I have to use the tile layout.

is there a different phone or service that actually uses a stacked layout? Maybe I can switch away from Apple. not my preference but they don’t seem to care.

Not sure why they would change how the tabs are stacked. This is very annoying and makes no sense. Apple needs to fire whoever made this decision. Apple should’ve made this optional.
