error connecting to the Apple ID server

I use my macbook air primarily for apple music. just once i accidentally clicked sign out and cannot sign back in anymore. The Apple Music app keeps saying "There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server."

its been almost a week now and this issue still can't seem be solved.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6
