Three Things:

A. Contact Apple Support:

Ask Apple to modify your phone number to what it should be.

Apple Contact Info:

• Contact Us - Choose Locations
• Proceed from there, as necessary

Why the Wait:

Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

B. Modifying Your Credentials:

Being suspicious, consider modifying your credentials, ASAP, starting with a new password (and maybe a newly-oped eMail address).

• Modify: your login credentials (using both a New eMail and a New Password) for Apple and each and all sites
• Associate: a different method of payment to your account
• Enable: Two-Factor Authentication for Apple ID PayPal and for all other accounts that have such an applicable option

C. Verify the Device:

Verify that the devices assigned to your account. If something is not yours, then remove it.  Check your Apple ID Device List to See where you're Signed in - Apple Support
