I received a message on a website stating that my iPhone had a virus. Can iPhones actually get viruses?

So I was looking at fnaf fan art and I clicked on a link and it took me to a message stating that my iPhone had a virus and to click on it to bring me to a website to “remove the virus”. I was wondering. Can IPhones actually get viruses?

iPhone 12, iOS 15

It's a malicious ad designed to scare you into downloading useless software.

I would refrain from clicking on such links in the future, avoid websites that rely on such advertising tactics and install an ad blocker.
