i have an older iphone XR and it broke and i can not get into it, i got the new 13 pro max, but it won't let me back up from my old phone

Getting this Data:
Just how exactly is it broken? Are you locked out? Or is it physical damage? If physical damage, then get see about getting it serviced to get it back and running. One fixed, transfer it using Quick Start: Use Quick Start to Transfer Data to a New iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
See if it Resides in iCloud.
Log in Here: https://www.icloud.com. If everything was syncing with iCloud, then lots of items would be obtainable from iCloud. So, go here to recover items: Recover Deleted Files on iCloud.com - Apple Support
