I'm not aware that Apple publishes the finish other than that the Pro Models are stainless as opposed to Aluminum on the standard 13. And any stainless steel can scratch, PVD coated or not. Whichever iPhone you purchase, if you don't put it in a case, and it gets scratches, that's cosmetic and not covered under warranty, so you'll have to live with the scratches if you get them. Why spend that much money on a phone and not spend a few more dollars to put it in a nice protective case? You should also invest in a screen protector to protect the screen from scratches, which are inevitable without a screen protector.

Ok so here is what I know pertaining to the silver … even in a case the prior models stainless steel frame would still scratch even with a case .. and sometimes switching cases as well as some cases cause scratches! I cannot speak upon the 13 pro and if it has a better pvd coating this year! I’ve heard that it does but will have to see for myself to confirm. While all the pros currently have a stainless steel frame they aren’t as easily scratched like the silver..while using a case. I want a silver pro max and I hope the frame holds up like the other colors this year
