Apple account balance disabled

Hey I’ve been trying to use my Apple account balance which is $714 for the past year I can’t purchase in app purchases it always says that my iTunes gift cards are not available but my balance is $714 and then when I try to purchase and install it says it’s been disabled please help me I want to use that money it’s a lot of money thank you

hi John you are in luck because after long long time with them, I finally got my issue solved.


here is why they are clueless, and that is entire on Apple's training not telling them what is Apple Account Balance is disabled mean, that is showing on our side, but on Apple's back end it shows we have purchasing block.


so here is the solution Call the number 1 800-my-apple, ask for post sells department then ask them to check if you have purchasing blocked by the system, then they will tell you yes, after that ask them to submit an unblock request to their "back office support team" that is how they are called internally by Apple.


after that 1 day later it should be resolved.


PS the Limnos guy here so called level 10 don't know anything, he is a totally waste of time, just spam posting things we already know......like just call the number they gave us yeah right! like we didn't already done that million times !

I don't see where it says your balance has been disabled. In fact I have never heard of balance being disabled. Certainly I have seen many posts about accounts being disabled, and there's several reasons why that can happen. Read the support article "If your Apple ID is locked or disabled"; it has solutions for two frequently encountered reasons for an account to be disabled/locked. If you still have problems:


Contact Apple. Click here --> https://support.apple.com/choose-country-region Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

It is a real thing it shows Apple Account Balance is disable, it has nothing to do with Apple account being disabled.


apple account balance is the credits from apple store credit or you redeemed a gift card or your refilled more cash to your apple account .


the issue happens randomly for no reason and no one in apple knows how to deal with it. I have the same issue.


it happens when you use your apple account balance shop on Apple online store, then the order canceled. Apple immediately lock your “Apple account balance” rendering your account un-useable. Like a bad break up!


the reason why it will make your entire account unusable is apple’s stupid system force to use apple account balance off first if it sees you have balance in your account before switching to other payment method. Even when the balance is disable by apple.


to make things worse no one know why apple will disable a gift card/store credit balance. Personally, when you call 1-800-my-apple people there are equally clueless I been transferred from the front line agents to apple tier 2 support level, and to different departments: apple care department, sells department, billing department, post sells department, tech support, apple media services, iTunes department, apple gift card department.


no one know how to solve the issue !

I have the same issue. However, when I was communicating with post sells department, they told me that there is no "back office support team", and no way to check if I have purchasing blocked by the system. My calls are transfering from one department to another department. I really do not know what is going on.

find an order that was canceled which caused this, find that order number


Then Call again 1-800 my apple, then ask for post sells department.


Tell them after your order was canceled, this happened. Ask if you have purchase block placed on your account. Yes they can check it 100%. Most likely you do have purchase block place on your account.


Then ask them submit a request to unblock it. The team can unblock it is their back office support team.


note: some of the post sells agents don’t know what is going on, since they don’t know what is apple account balance, that requires you to let them know what it is. Let them know it is your apple credit can use in the Apple online store. But don’t let them transfer you to iTunes department.


If that agent still clueless, just thank them and call again. I called the same department over 10 times finally find an agent knows what he is doing.


i got that sorted out this way, Literally the same thing happened with me as I write in this message.

Glad you find one at post sells knows how to submit a unblock request.


mine was resolved after the request was submitted within 24 hours. But the agent at the time did tell me it can be 1-3 business days. So I would say give it some time.


at meanwhile, go to apple online store and select some cheap stuff and go to the check out stage page to see if your apple account balance is back from grayed out. No need to actually buy it, just go to that page to see it. :)

I have the same problem, and their costumer service is inefficiency They just keep trans me from one department to other one, and if their unlock request haven't been processing they won't noticed you at all, even they promise the problem will be figured out in 24 business hours ,all you can do it call apple >wait>call apple>wait, this loop never end, I have no idea how to fix it.
