new browser install

I have a MacBook Air on macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6. I need to upgrade my browser, but I'm uncertain how. I'd like to install Chrome and use that. Any guidance on the steps to do this safely so I have another browser in addition to my outdated Safari. Thanks!

I have a couple of thoughts to share. First, it is always a good idea to update/upgrade your computer's operating system along with any apps which are installed. Second, Safari is upgraded when the computer's OS is upgraded. It is installed as part of the operating system and normally cannot be individually installed. Installing a second browser is a good idea and a lot of us have done that. To install Chrome, or any other browser, simply download it from the vendor's web site and install it. There should be no problem.
