Hi Moonernemo,

It depends. Try these steps to figure out what version of macOS your Mac is running:

  1. Shut down your Mac: Press Command-Q to quit the Setup Assistant and shut down your Mac.
  2. Start up from macOS Recovery.
  3. When the list of utilities appears, go to the top of the screen and select Utilities -> Terminal.
  4. Type this command and hit Enter (Return): sw_vers
  5. Note the ProductVersion shown. Then, restart your Mac normally.

On your Windows PC, download the correct version of Migration Assistant, based on the macOS ProductVersion on your Mac: Move your data from a Windows PC to a Mac - Apple Support

macOS 12.x.x = macOS Monterey

macOS 11.x.x = macOS Big Sur

macOS 10.15.x = macOS Catalina

macOS 10.14.x = macOS Mojave

macOS 10.13.x = macOS High Sierra

macOS 10.12.x = macOS Sierra

OS X 10.11 = OS X El Capitan
