iPhone 13 USB A to Lightening compatibility (for cars, or other USB A charging blocks)

I've already contacted Apple support (technical and the store - each pointed to the other for an answer....)

The iPhone 13 has a lightning to USB-C for charging. I need to figure out how to connect my new phone to my car for sound - via the USB-A (female) port in the car. (I don't want to use BT.) I'm either envisioning (1) a cable that has a male lightning connector (to connect to the phone) and a male USB-A (to plug directly into the car); or (2) some sort of adapter that has a USB-C female (to plug the "new" cord for the iPhone 13) and an adapter to connect some form of USB cable to the car.

Will this (https://www.apple.com/shop/product/ME291AM/A/lightning-to-usb-cable-05-m?fnode=d86eb4e130af03628e2ab98fc89a53fa602b4a6d02d840949ece3633a3a619c03144120e10e741f1a496ca0c18a3562ae457a901589e0e767bee4095ee1652977532bbde50732e4be182ac9911a7dce183c42241f4899304dbe8e17d5bc13bcf229109e723cea6040eff3012ba7d6468) - lightning to USB cable work? The person at the Apple store said NOT to use this type of connection (at least for recharging), as "it will ruin the battery".

Also, what do people think of this USB C Female to USB Male Adapter 4-Pack,Type A Charger Cable Plug Connector as a work around for the car.

The https://www.apple.com/shop/product/ME291AM/A/lightning-to-usb-cable-05-m cable will not harm your phone.

I suspect the other adapter will work as well but I haven't personally used one.

re " The person at the Apple store said NOT to use this type of connection (at least for recharging), as 'it will ruin the battery'. " -- that was bad advice. Apple encourages use of the USB cables. See the following from Buy iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini - Apple

As part of our efforts to reach our environmental goals, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini do not include a power adapter or EarPods. Included in the box is a USB‑C to Lightning Cable that supports fast charging and is compatible with USB‑C power adapters and computer ports.

We encourage you to re‑use your current USB‑A to Lightning cables, power adapters, and headphones, which are compatible with these iPhone models. But if you need any new Apple power adapters or headphones, they are available for purchase.
