Macbook 2011 Model : High Sierra Upgrade and MS Office 2011

My Macbook Pro Early 2011 is now upgraded to High Sierra.

The MS Office Mac Version on it is 2011. Can i update my MS Office for Mac 2011 version ?

Performance of Office 2011 has slowed down after my OS upgrade from El Capitan to High Sierra.

Microsoft Office 2016 is compatible with your Mac and with High Sierra. However Microsoft ended support for Office 2016 over a year ago and finding a copy to buy may be difficult. Some years ago, I had Office 2011 on a Macbook Air 2010 running High Sierra and upgraded it to Office 2016. The 2016 version had additional features and some bug fixes, but I don't recall it being faster.

To go from Office 2011 to Office 2016 requires purchase of the new version of Office 2016 (if you can find it). Its is not a free update or upgrade, it is an entirely new version.

How much memory and free disk space do you have?

Microsoft admitted that they never tested Office 2011 for Mac with macOS High Sierra, and then promptly ended support for this Office suite in Oct 2017. If your version of Office 2011 for Mac is older than 14.7.7, there is a Microsoft Update page for it. Even if you could find a 64-bit version of Office 2016 for Mac, Microsoft has dropped license server support for all discontinued Office 2011/2016 suites, so you could never register a new installation of it into High Sierra.
