Requesting a credit increase
Does requesting a credit increase result in a hard inquiry or soft inquiry? I hear it varies lender to lender?

Hi, Goldman Sachs, the Apple Card issuer and servicer, does a soft pull from TransUnion of your FICO 9 score. If your application is approved you’ll get an offer showing your Credit Limit and APR. If you accept the offer, they’ll do a hard pull.
Here are several support articles that cover the process and how Credit applications are evaluated.

Credit Limit Increases are a soft pull from TransUnion and frequently it’s the last month that was reported.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for the response. Actually, I was able to get in touch with one of the representatives and they confirmed that requesting a credit increase on your existing card results in only a soft inquiry not hard. The hard inquiry is only when you apply for a new line of credit, are approved and accept.
You’re welcome.
