I have to activate MS Office 2021 every time I open Excel, Word or PowerPoint

I recently purchased a new Mac Book Air with the M1 chip and Big Sur. None of my older Microsoft Office apps worked any longer, so I purchased MS Office Home and Business 2021. It is not compatible with Big Sur and I have to run it with Rosetta. I also have to activate it every time I open one of the apps. Is there a fix (currently or on the horizon) that will allow my computer and/or Microsoft to retain the activation information so that I can easily use the programs again?

It is the M1 chip that it is not compatible with. It’s been well over a year since M1 Macs were introduced and longer since all the other software developers were advised about them so I have no idea why Microsoft couldn’t put out a universal app, but they put out a 32 bit app five years after Apple announced full 64 bit.

I also have to activate it every time I open one of the apps.

you should contact Microsoft support. They have a license reset tool they should be able to provide you with in order to reset your license but I’m not sure that that is what is wrong.
