Apple TV 4K remote faulty volume not working

I have had 2 other Apple TV’s and they work fine. Upgraded to a new Apple TV 4K (the silver remote) and the volume won’t work. Suspect it’s faulty hardware but wanted to double check.

Note - I have been through all settings and configurations with TV and pairing. But may be missing something

· Unplug Modem from it’s power source for 2-3 minutes and then plug it back in.

· Unplug Router from it’s power source for 2-3 minutes and then plug it back in.

· Unplug Apple TV from it’s power source for 2-3 minutes and then plug it back in and retest the system.
