Seems to be an old issue that happens once and a while but none of the previous fixes are helping. I've tried uninstalling manually / deleting old files / installing a new version to delete the old and nothing is working. I tried the fix where you go into regex to look for the itunes.reg file but nothing is there. I used 7zip to extract the installers and reinstall that way but again, no deal. Not sure what to even try next.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling right click on the downloaded setup file and use run as administrator. It may also help to temporarily disable any non-Microsoft anti-virus.
Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Ideally I’d like to reinstall iTunes but I can’t because it won’t uninstall the old version.
I’ve already gone through that article and I’m still having the same issue “can’t find the itunes.reg file”

Thank you for that info. The info in that article should have provided what you need to remove and reinstall iTunes, included the iTunes.reg file. We would suggest you Contact Apple Support for more specific assistance in removing iTunes from your Windows computer.

Sadly the only thing that worked was looking for anything in my registry that had any relation to Apple which took hours. But I was able to reinstall iTunes without any issues after that.
