Thunderbolt constantly 115 Degrees

Hi,

I need help because my Macbook Pro is overheating since few days.

My Apple Care+ coverage has expired the 6th november after a protection of 4 years, and since 7th november I noticed that my MacBook started to be very very hot on the top/right corner, right above the right thunderbolts.

The captor says that the temperature is 115 Degrees celsius which is not normal. This area is always hot, I mean even when the Macbook is closed (sleeping) it's still hot even after hours.

Thanks for your help.

Iliasse

The best you can do on an Intel Mac—

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NRAM Reset)

If no resolve you can try running the diagnostic—...not as definitive as Apple's own AST2 (Apple Service Toolkit) back bench diagnostic, but may kick out an error code.

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac

You have a hardware fault with the laptop. You need to have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to provide you with a repair estimate. I've encountered this issue with two of our organization's laptops where a component on the Logic Board right near one of the ports ends up overheating. I actually burned myself from it, although I had the laptop open and touched a component on the Logic Board.
