If I add a contact from my messages, Why it doesn't show in the contacts?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with adding contacts from Messages. We'd like to help.

What happens when you try to add a contact? Do you get an error message that it shows it's not saving? Have you ever been able to save contacts this way?

Are you saving your contacts to iCloud or though another email address? Check to see which account if your default account:

Manage and delete contacts on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If it's not showing iCloud as the default account, your contacts may be being saved to your email address.
