iPad repair

My iPad Pro 12.9” has dust inside of the screen between the backlight and the glass panel. The iPad has an engraving on the back, if it is taken in for repair will the engraving be able to be preserved? Traditionally the unit is swapped with a refurbished unit with AppleCare+ but due to the engraving is it possible to have the screen replaced or a replacement device sent with the engraving?
