is there a way to set up automation for Apple TV to automatically connect to homepod mini?

I have an Apple TV HD and 2 home pod minis in my living room which I use as the speakers for my TV. However, in order to do this, each time I turn the TV on, I have to go into the audio menu and select the HomePod mini's as the audio output. The default is always TV speakers and home pod mini's are available as temporary audio output only.

I tried to do a shortcut/automation but that stuff confuses me and I was wondering if anyone here knows a way to set it up so when I ask Siri to turn on the TV, it automatically uses airplay to the HomePod mini's. I dont really want to purchase an Apple TV 4K just for this feature to set up home pods as default speakers if theres a way to create an automation.

Not that I know of. I can use the Siri remote to call up Home scenes, but I don't think it can run Siri shortcuts. Note the default speaker option prevents you using the HomePod for general music playback without the Apple TV getting involved. I tried it back when it was supported with the OG HomePod and ATV HD, and quickly turned if off.

I have the 4k version with two mini pods and one adult size pod. Usually they connect automatically. Sometimes the sound comes from the pods and the tv speakers. Sometimes the sound and picture are out of sync and sometimes only the TV speakers work. It’s a crappy system with a lot of problems. If apple actually cared they would read this form. When it works it’s great, but I am forever reconnecting the speakers to fix one of the above problems.
