Extremely fast iPhone 12 Pro battery health drop

Hi everyone,

I've got an iPhone 12 Pro from day one, and in the last months the battery health started to drop significantly.

After 12 months of very normal use, always charging it when it reaches about 30-40% of battery charge, always having the "smart charge" feature enabled, and never using it down to 0% battery, the battery health is now at 89%.

Coconut battery on Macbook reports that the iPhone battery has just 264 charge cycles and a full charge capacity of only 2467 mAh instead of the design capacity of 2815 mAh.

Is this normal? I've had other iPhones in the past, and no one had such a massive battery health degradation in less than a year.

Should I ask for a battery replacement? Would it be covered in warranty?

Warranty covers battery reducing to 79% inside 12 months, (or 24 months with AppleCare+)

Batteries vary but 1% per month is not considered abnormal.

Looks like you will need a new battery at 2 years which is about right.
