Why have I lost all the songs I paid for in the past. I have bought hundreds of songs and only have a few in my music app. I will not purchase anything else from apple and as soon as possible I will trade phone to a droid

Why have I lost all the music I have purchased in the past? I feel like the songs were stolen from me after I purchased.
