Previously Purchased Itunes Music

I lost 1,000 songs I purchased from Itunes over the years when I did a software update. I cannot locate these now. I do not subscribe to Apple Music or Itunes Match nor do I want to. I just want to access the songs I already paid for. How do I do this on my Iphone without paying for Apple Music?
