facebook video ripper app

As I understand it, Apple changed their policies a couple of years ago and will no longer allow video ripping apps in the AppStore. I can find a number of apps online that claim to ba able to rip from YouTube and facebook. Some of them are in the AppStore but the reviews indicate the ripping features have been deleted in recent updates and others say they just don't work. I hesitate to just go ahead and try something I find online because I have had some not so great experiences with non-Apple authorized apps. Truth be told, I've also had a few experience with apps from the AppStore. I am hoping someone can recommend an app that is safe for my OS, isn't glitchy or crashy, actually works as advertised and won't be something that leaves trackers, data miners or other undesirable things on my computer. I am looking specifically for something that rips from facebook. If it also works on YouTube that will be a plus but it's not necessary.
