I am looking for a list of Ipad model numbers and what level of IOS they support, I can only find model names.
This is to enable update models as requires across our estate of approximately 450 devices.

Here is a list of the highest version of iOS supported by the older models of iPad (for simplicity - “generations” are shortened to a number) that are restricted in their ability to be updated:
iPad1 - iOS 5.1.1
iPad2, iPad3 and iPad mini1 - iOS 9.3.5 (WiFi Only models), iOS 9.3.6 (WiFi & Cellular)
iPad4 - iOS 10.3.3 (WiFi Only), iOS 10.3.4 (WiFi & Cellular)
iPad Air1, iPad mini2 and iPad mini3 - iOS 12.5.5
Newer models, not appearing in this list (i.e., iPad5 and later, iPad mini4 and later, iPad Air2 and later and all models of iPad Pro) are all able to be updated to the current version, iPadOS 15.1
Thanks for replying, but you have quoted model names, not numbers, e. g. iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation) is the name and A1876 is the model number. Similar information is available but it always excludes the model number.
This is because model numbers are region and market specific. Using model names provides a simple list - with which you can determine the capabilities of an individual iPad.
The first link that I provided will provide a cross reference of model number, model name and a photograph.
