Unable to share external usb HD from MacMini M1 with Monterey

Hi everybody

I used to share external usb HD to let MacBook Air do Time Machine backup. Since I've moved from MacMini mid2011 to new MacMini M1 I cannot share any external usb disk.

I can access to the MacMini from the MBA , I can correctly browse the Mac internal disk, I do see in Finder the external disk but I connot access to it. MBA is still running Big Sur.

I tried to remove other usb devices, to change passwords, I tried to use other account, the ID apple. The external disk is wired to MacMini directly, no hub.

Could anybody help me please?

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities, McViga.

We see that you're having some trouble with sharing an external drive from your Mac Mini to your MacBook Air. The first thing to check, would be to make sure that the drive is added in File Sharing. You can read about how to do that in Set up file sharing on Mac.

We hope that helps.

Cheers.
