I cannot install the Mojave operating system on my MacBook Pro 15" 2017
If you have opened the App Store Mojave download page and it says Open then the mac is detecting a copy of the Install macOS Mojave.app in your Applications folder or perhaps someone else on your mac. That error message is misleading.
Locate it, move it to the Trash, empty the Trash.
Connect your mac to your router via cable.
Restart your mac.
Open your Safari browser and click on this link,

Go to the Use Safari to download macOS section.
Click on macOS Mojave.
This will redirect you to the App Store Mojave download page
it should now say Get or Download.
This will download Install macOS Mojave.app to your Downloads folder.

Hi it was not a recent download - it was unavailable to me to download again, or at least I did not see a way to do that, even when I clicked on updates or searched the app store. Where can I download the new version?
Is the Full Installer a recent Download from Apple How to get old versions of macOS ?
Is this an older version downloaded months / year ago ?
