Will my company own the data that's stored within iCloud and other non business apps if I leave?

With escalating security concerns more stringent control is coming for our devices. While I'm on a company phone I still like to jot things down within Notes. Ultimately, those are mine and not the company's. If I leave will they have hooks into personal data stored within my iCloud?

If you are using a corporate Apple ID and the company has the password to that Apple ID, they will have access to anything stored in that Apple ID. If it's your personal Apple ID, they won't have access to anything stored there. They will, theoretically, have access to anything you sent using your company email.

I'd suggest you use a different notes app that stores things somewhere else. Many apps have their own servers. I believe Evernote does. Or, send yourself emails to your personal email address.

Data belongs to the owner of the ID used to log into iCloud. So, yes, if you add notes while using the company login the company can itself log in and access your notes. You can of course delete them if you leave.

An alternative (provided your IT department allows it (which they may not) would be to use a third-party app such as Evernote, with its own sign-in.
