iPhone 7 Image Quality Insufficient for Printing

The iPhone 7 has a 12 MP camera, which should be more than enough to shoot and print in 8x10. Unfortunately, the file size produced when taking a picture is miniscule (jpeg = 394KB, HEIC = 405KB), so there's no enough data to print an attractive 8x10. Can anyone help me understand why a 12 MP camera isn't producing a raw file with sufficient data to print an 8x10?

Do you have iCloud Photos turned on? If so then the full res image is in the Cloud. Download it from iCloud onto your computer to print.

My iphone 7 produces shots 1 to 4.5 MB and I don't use iCloud Photos, I import into my Mac Photos app for re-sync to phone, and for print/Archive store.

If you want RAW you need to buy an iphone13 Pro
