My desktop is TINY after updating to the new Monterey OS.

Changing text and icon size does nothing to make the desktop the way it looked before the update. I have used PC's my entire life outside of work, I just want my desktop readable again. The date etc, all stay small. My icons are tiny but do magnify, but again, they are way too small before magnified. What am I missing? None of the Show View Options help at all. In accessibility there is nothing to make the desktop a normal size again.

Mac mini, macOS 12.0

Check and change the resolution setting for your display by clicking System Preferences > Displays.

Selecting a lower (scaled) resolution will result in a desktop that appears larger.
