iTunes Store App Doesn't Work

For the last couple of months, I haven't been able to open the iTunes Store App on my 11Pro. When I open it, it is a blank screen with "Open the iTunes U App" at the top and a blue "iTunes U" logo at the bottom, which I assume should be a button to open the app, which I do not have installed. I saw a thread on this from 2020, but there was no answer and the only response was that the OP was in the wrong app, which clearly they weren't. I've rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled... also, iTunes Store does not show up in my Applications list under Settings. Anyone have any ideas? If I keep clicking on the blue logo, the screen flashes black with the normal iTunes Store menu across the bottom, but it returns to the iTunes U screen below. If I click the "Open the iTunes U App" at the top, it says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".

Hi,

What iOS version are you running on this device? Firstly, I’d suggest updating to iOS 15.1.1.

But, instead of updating via Settings, I would place the device in recovery mode, restore it, and then install the update via iTunes on a Mac or PC. This will reinstall the iOS Software with the latest version, just in case the previously installed version was corrupt.

Afterwards, don't restore from a backup. If you use iCloud, all the content backed up with iCloud will manually appear/sync to the device once you sign into iCloud Settings.

As for the iTunes Store App missing from Settings, you can re-install it from the App Store. If unable to reinstall, erasing all content in Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content & Settings will start the Setup Assistant “hello screen” and reinstall the app on the device. This applies to all Apple apps that come pre-installed with iOS.

That being said, avoid this process and focus on restoring through iTunes. If you ever encounter this in the future though, this should resolve it.

Hope that helps!
