+1 to Ku4hx we need you to answer those questions. If you were doing Migration Assistant via WiFi that was a huge error. If that is the case please abort the process and begin doing your migration using the instructions in Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant.
You can ask questions after reading the process. The information in this solution is the most reliable, the fastest and the easiest method to migrate from one Mac to another!
In my experience, a transfer between computers using Migration Assistant should not take over an hour or so. Clearly it's hung up, and likely your data is corrupted. I would begin the process again and only use a wired connection with a USB cable connecting the two computers. Then, all should go well.
Not even with a cable?
I did a migration from an old mac to a new one. Everything transfered except the photo library and all the albums. I was able to fumble around and transfer the library using an external drive but the albums will not move unless unless I copy one at a time. I connected the two macs through the same network and went through all the migration steps trying to transfer just the album files. It looked like it might work until everything stopped when the receive Mac started looking for files to transfer. After 2 hours of nothing I gave up.
Are you transferring using Migration Assistant via Wi-Fi?
I have the same problem. In fact it’s even worse. None of the suggested migration methods work. I’m at a loss.
