Old Mac / New Mac

I'm trying to move my data from my very old (2015) Mac to my new Mac, but no transfer app seems common between the two. Can someone help me figure out how to transfer my data?

The related article that followed you in is the correct one.

You run the version of Migration Assistant ALREADY installed on each Mac -- they are NOT likely to be the same version, and that is exactly as expected.

If you have at least 10.12 Sierra installed, you place both Macs close to each other, and they will create an Ad Hoc Wi-Fi network, and transfer as fast as they possibly can over Wi-Fi.
