Creating a bootable USB drive says "olume is not a valid volume mount point"

Being a macOS newbie, I followed several sets of instructions regarding trying to create a bootable USB drive to install Monterey on a older MacBook Pro. Properly erasing and formatting the USB drive first. In terminal, in preparing this media process it says to type sudo, space bar then drag and drop the "createinstallmedia" file, space bar then type -volume, space bar then drag the USB drive to the terminal window. Tap the enter key to start the process. Type your password, this always failed. After numerous attempts, a window pops up stating the correct command is "--volume" then add the USB path.

Lo and behold, it worked. I now have a bootable USB drive with the Monterey installer.

Just a "heads up" for anyone encountering this problem.
