The music stops playing through Spotify after a few seconds once I lock the screen. It doesn’t force close the app, but the music stops, and the Spotify widget disappears from my Lock Screen, so I have to open Spotify to resume the music. I’m on an iPhone XS with iOS 14.8.1. I’ve tried restarting the phone, updating/reinstalling Spotify, and checked all of my settings. My storage isn’t super low either. I don’t know what else to do.

i need to clarify. It’s not just when the screen locks. It’s whenever the app is running in the background, and it happens at seemingly random intervals. Then when I restart the song, it rewinds almost to the beginning.
This just started happening to me today as well with and without headphones plugged in. It seems likely there is a bug in the current version of Spotify (at least while running on my version of iOS).

Also the issue doesn’t occur with podcasts, only with music apparently. This is really annoying. Seems like it’s probably a Spotify issue though.
Yeah I’m hearing it from a bunch of other people too. AFAIK Spotify is aware of this issue and is working on it.
