iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server.
This is the message I get when I try to see my email with a any brouser on my PC and safari on my phone

To confirm you're trying to access iCloud online using your PC. However, it results in an error, 'iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server.'
By chance, are you using a VPN or security software? If so, we'd recommend to disable them and restart the device, as these may be blocking the connection.
You mentioned Mail works fine on your phone, is this an iPhone? Are you using the iCloud website or the Mail app itself?
