iCloud - Problem Turning On Mail error message "There was a problem turning on your email, try again

After following on screen instructions and selecting an email address that is not already taken, I repeatedly get the same error message: “Problem Turning On Mail

There was a problem turning on your email, try again. Same message on both the iphone and Ipad 10th gen.


How do I turn on Icloud mail...

We'll be glad to help out. If you're consistently getting this message, you may need to try signing out of iCloud completely on each affected device, then signing back in. The following article shows how to do this: Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac - Apple Support


Give that a try, then see if you can use Mail afterwards. Let us know if it still happens and we can assist further.
