Homepod is dead

I am absolutely disappointed and upset. My homepod of 3 years is dead. No light, no response to Hey Siri. Apple Support did not help; nobody wants to help. Have pretty much been told that it can't be repaired. How can it be that we can spend hundreds of pounds on products which have no reliability or longevity? I use this Homepod to play music to my mother with Alzeimers. I can't afford to buy a replacement speaker. Anyone have any ideas apart from chucking it in the rubbish bin?

Thank you.

I will try and look for them again; I saw them when looking for help. There are also numerous reports about Homepods 'bricking'. I mentioned them to the Apple Support advisor who basically said there were no reports of problems with the Homepod. Clearly this product is not fit for purpose or of satisfactory standard. At no point, prior to purchase, was I made aware that updates initiated by Apple could render the Homepod useless. Obviously I would never have bought it if this had been the case. The Homepod has been removed from the market. Surely this is a recall situation. This could be a breach of contract instance. We can prove our purchases. Apple should recall the Homepods which have died and provide a remedy.
