My Apple TV app on my Roku won’t let me watch anything other than recaps and trailers. When I attempt to play movies or shows it says “not available in your country or region”.

I’m a long time Apple ID holder and have had Apple TV app on Roku before, but terminated the subscription several months ago (maybe even a year ago) due to lack of use. Today I bought the trial and attempted to watch Finch and got this message. Then I attempted to watch anything else and got the same message.

Roku region is set to United States, and nothing has changed on my Apple

ID.

So what could it be?

Hey there, BG19OG69!

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

Have you had a chance to make sure that your Apple ID region is set to the United States (or whichever region you are located in)? Here is how you can double check: Change your Apple ID country or region. If your region is set to something else, we'd recommend following the steps there to adjust that and then test again. Hopefully this takes care of the issue!

If you're still stuck, however, we'd recommend signing out of your Apple ID and back in on the Roku device. There's some more info here: Watch on Roku.

We hope that this information is helpful.

Have a great day!
