iPhone volume buttons not working no sound

I have had many issues where my iPhone has no sound. The volume buttons are not moving the Volume either up or down. The time I get into my car using my Cadillac cue but I have turned off my Bluetooth on my phone I have an iPhone XR. I am just tired of this kiddo and tell me what I need to do? I don’t have it on mute I don’t mess with accessibilities I don’t do any of that so why is this happening how do I fix it I appreciate anyone to give me an answer thank you very much in advance

Hello,

Is this issue only affecting ringer and alert volume? The cause could possibly be a setting or maybe the Focus feature.

If you cannot adjust the ringer using the buttons at all times you may have that turned off in Settings > Sounds & Haptics.

If this only happens while driving the Driving Focus feature is a more likely culprit. This article explains it and shows how to turn it off.
