How to turn off speaker in zoom for iPad

After I disconnect my airpods from my ipad when in a zoom meeting, it automatically turns on the speaker and i can’t change the volume. I usually leave the zoom meeting and rejoin when i happens, but is there a more convenient way to switch to the normal mode where you can change the volume?
