Unable to type anything with my iPad magic keyboard in split view or split over

After updating iPasOS from 14 to 15, I have been unable to type anything in Split View and Split Over. Can I downgrade my iPad to iPadOS14?

I think while you offer users this kind of terrible experience, you should not provide the update option.

Having updated to iPadOS15.x, restoring an earlier version of iPadOS is not possible.

If you are experiencing functional issues after updating your iPad, your next step is a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often resolve an isolated software issue:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
