Make sure that your iPhone is setup to meet the following requirements before you attempt to update the iOS version-

  • Your iPhone must have a fast Wi-Fi connection; you cannot update over cellular data or a cellular hotspot
  • The iPhone can not be in Low Power mode
  • The battery state of charge must be above 50%
  • Your iPhone must have at least 6GB or more free storage space
  • Your iPhone cannot be connected through VPN
  • You should leave the phone plugged in until it finishes updating, both to assure that it remains above 50% and to keep Wi-Fi enabled (Wi-Fi turns off when the phone sleeps if not connected to power).

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

I ran the iOS 15 update for my husbands IPhone 12Pro Max in under 20 minutes but my 12Pro max keeps kicking me out of the download before it is finished. I have plenty of storage (205gb+) and it’s the same WiFi connection that I used for his.

I have had the automatic upgrades set and my phone is plugged in every night and it has not upgraded on its own since I bought it.

I have it connected to my desk top now and I am running it through iTunes. It has kicked me out 9 times now just as it approaches the 6.16gb

Thank you for your help. I did try that and I even hooked it to the desktop and as soon as it got to 6.03 of 6.17GB it kicked me out again.

I took the phone to best buy and the people at geek squad forced the update there. I believe my phone just needs replaced by apple because I have a feeling this will be a constant issue with it.

again thanks for your help. :)
