How can I use my iMac when the Magic Mouse fails?

My Magic Mouse has failed and now I can’t use my iMac. Is there a solution?

Control the pointer using Mouse Keys on Mac - Apple Support

Pressing the Option key five times should turn Mouse Keys on or off.

Thanks so much - I was able to log on but still can’t navigate using arrow keys. Other ideas appreciated.
