ipod keeps restarting

My iPod Touch appears to fully charge. When it is plugged in it shows battery at 100%. When I unplug it and start an app, for example music, the iPod Touch shuts off and restarts. Then it shows battery at 20% and will not play. So, the only way I can play music or watch a video is when it is plugged in. I have tried resetting the device 5 times and still have the same problem. Can anyone help please?

Your battery is probably dead and can no longer hold a charge. You'll need to replace the battery or keep the iPod connected to a power bank when it's away from the computer. iPod Repair - https://support.apple.com/ipod/repair/service
