I’ve received a message telling me that my I phone is infected by 13 viruses and my information is in danger. It asks me to download supposedly apple program to fix this. Is this genuine or a scam?

You are fine, and can ignore the message, if you did not interact with it.

Do your Part: It is a scam. There is not virus on your device. Nothing was compromised. So, report it to Apple. Take a screenshot of this message, and report it to Apple, by attaching the screenshot to the eMail. Inform Apple what your eMail is all about: a screenshot containing a scam message.
