iMessage turning black

Hello for the past few days every so often the iMessage app will become black and I can not access the app. I have tried turning the phone on and off again and it is not resolved. It is an iPhone 13 pro on iOS 15.1.1

If you iPhone is up to date and your still experiencing this issue

This seems more like a software issue...

Try these steps:

  1. Force Restart
  2. Connect to a good wifi connection - turn off iMessage and turn back on
  3. Turn off messages in iCloud - settings > name > iCloud > messages (turn off and back on)
  4. Restore Device to factory settings. (do not restore from backup) https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252

If issue still persist > contact Apple Support 1-800-MY-APPLE

Hope this helps ;)
