How should Apple help the environment if a failed Mac must be destroyed if the soldered storage holds sensitive data?

If a Mac with a soldered data storage fails and the sensitive data could not be encrypted what can be done saving the destroy of e.g. the whole computer or at least the logicboard containing the fixed ssd?

MacBook

Yeas, that ist the answer.. They "recycle it"... And charge double what the MacBook is still worth.

Does Apple provide at least a certificate that upon recycling the storage is destroyed?

At least I know that my MacBook Air 2017 or Macbook ro Intel are the last we can trust, as it still allows to change the drive.

M1 this way cannot be used at all, if you e.g run a program not allowing drive encryption.
