Check the Router for a Sticker which will often time have the Wifi password on it. That is unless, once it was used, you logged into the Web Based Interface of the Router and had changes the password..
One can also look in the Keychain Application in the Utilities folder and check in the iCloud Category for the password
P. Phillips has the solution "Check the Router for a Sticker which will often time have the Wifi password on it. That is unless, once it was used, you logged into the Web Based Interface of the Router and had changes the password."
If the password on the router sticker was changed, however, you can still recover because most routers have a complete reset button (on the side or bottom of the router, or consult your manual or look up the location online for your router model). Then when the reset is done, it will revert back to the original password on the router sticker.
