Apple watch GPS

Hello, i recently bought apple watch 7, because i wanted to track my activities. Its my first apple watch. I have iphone se 2nd generation and i was wondering if theres a way to turn off gps on my phone, but still have it turned on my watch, so i can recieve gps data of my runs, because having it turned on, makes my phone battery drains a lot. Thanks!
